PM “GONE MAD” OVER NDP POLLING- SAYS NDP VICE PRESIDENT

One of the architects of the New Democratic Party (NDP) campaign for 2020 has claimed that any reasonable person would adduce evidence from the hyper-activity of Prime Minister Gonsalves that he has “gone mad”.

The Central Kingstown MP who recently sat down with On D Spot host J.P Schwmon said, “Do you know of a day of the week that Gonsalves is not speaking on some radio station? The man on the street will say that’s a Prime Minister who has gone mad”.

“He is uncomfortable. If the evidence was abounding that he was doing so well, I don’t think he will be so consumed with daily messaging” says the NDP Vice President

In recent weeks, commentators have noted that Prime Minister Gonsalves has been defending the government and his political party, the Unity Labour Party (ULP) on many different radio stations almost on a daily basis.

Former Prime Minister Sir James Mitchell suggested recently that new polling by the NDP shows that Opposition Leader Dr. Hon. Godwin Friday is doing much better than former leader Arnhim Eustace in a head to head with PM Gonsalves.

“Yes, it is true for quite some time now that the polls have been showing that Dr. Friday is a preferred leader over Gonsalves in the national polls” says Leacock who once said he was the best person to lead the party.

Commenting on the polls, a relaxed Leacock continued, “We have an extremely good inhouse pollster. I have measured him by my scientific experience. He is by subjective and objective measures as good as any that you can import from outside”.

The New Democratic Party (NDP) has started its election campaign with a promise to increase the intensity in the months ahead.

Elections are widely expected to be held by December 2020.
