FACEBOOKERS WANT VENDORS TO CLEAN UP THEIR ACT

One person on Facebook has launched a public tirade towards those in the vending community who continues to leave the streets of Kingstown in an unsanitary state after their daily trade.

Pictures posted on the social media site show a trail of garbage in the area just outside the main Kingstown vegetable market. The unsightly scene in the middle of the capital city has long been an issue for successive government administrations.

“After you guys collect [ you all money] you just throw everything on the ground and leave it there. Come on get a bag or box or something. Don’t just leave it there” said a seemingly irate Vinton Ollivierre.

Other persons have called on the authorities to install cameras and to institute criminal charges against vendors who continue to carry out their activity without regard to the environment.

Another comment reads, “And when they done they want to blame government (Ralph). Cleanliness is next to Godliness.”

The issue of vending has been trending in recent times due to attempts by the government to relocate some vendors to purpose-built facilities off the streets.
