Former cadet and Port Authority worker Koreen Latham Charles died of gunshot wounds earlier today. The 35 year old was rushed to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH) but later succumbed to her injuries.
Breadfruit News has been reliably informed that a man known to the victim has been taken up by the police for questioning in relation to the unnatural death. It is alleged the person assisting the police with their investigation is also a police officer.
We can report that the young mother had made several complaints to the hierarchy of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) fearing that her life would be cut short. Out of respect for the victim and to ensure due process with regards to the ongoing investigation, Breadfruit News will not publish further details on this matter at this time.
Friends have reached out to us to express their deep sadness as “Kim” as she is affectionately known was “fed up” of making complaints to the police and felt helpless as there was little effort to frontally address the domestic issues she faced.
