NDP ACTIVIST LUZETTE KING CALLS ON OTHERS TO JOIN TOGETHER IN STOPPING SANDALS DEVELOPMENT

Political activist and fierce critic of the Unity Labour Party (ULP) administration Luzette King has apparently reached out to Sandals and Beaches Resorts in an attempt to have the hotel chain reverse its decision to set up in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The former ULP card carrying member in a post on Facebook boasts that she has sent a message to the company’s Facebook account which reads, “I am concerned about Sandals involvement at Buccament in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines”.

In the message, she contends and agree with another NDP activist Mr. Bryan Alexander that:

“Today, The ULP may try and fool Vincentians again in their press conference regarding the Buccama hotel”.

“They may tell you all today that Sandals may take over the hotel and may open it sometime next year, I hope this is not the case, because the government can only acquire the property for public purpose, and running a hotel is not public purpose. Added to that, there is a pending court case in England”.

Mrs King has used her social media platform to challenge others to write to Sandals with similar messages challenging the company to look at the legal implications of their decision to invest in the country.

Other persons within the NDP camp has dismissed the attempts by the government to lure a new investor in the failed tourism project as an election gimmick to secure the Central Leeward seat and another five years for the ULP administration.

Long standing member of the NDP Bryan Alexander accuses the government of fooling the people as the administration has failed to fulfil a similar promise made to the public some 3 years ago.

Earlier today commentator Jerry George was adamant that the Ralph Gonsalves administration is seeking to hoodwink Vincentians to secure the Central Leeward seat.
