Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment Sen Luke Browne has kick started his attempt to wrestle the East Kingstown constituency from the New Democratic Party (NDP).
His campaign unveiled its new logo which it says carry a deeper message. The ULP candidate said:
“I think this symbol depicts everything which needs to be said in a clear and crisp manner and signals our intention to run a clean, efficient, professional and ultimately successful campaign conducted according to the highest standards”.
“The logo is headed by the depiction of a rising star and communicates the energy, enthusiasm and organisation required for active and efficient representation, and for making a sterling contribution to the overall national development in all the various forums of government”.
Sen. Browne will face political newcomer Dwight Fitzgerald Bramble following the retirement of incumbent representative Hon. Arnhim Eustace from elective politics.
In the 2010 general elections, the NDP won the constituency with 2,589 votes to the ULP 2,122.
In the 2015 general elections, the margin narrowed with Hon. Arnhim Eustace securing 2,444 to Sen Luke Browne total of 2,295.
