In a release, the Embassy of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the Republic of China (Taiwan) says that St. Vincent and the Grenadines decision to establish a diplomatic presence in the Asian country has been a “sprint of learning, growth and outreach…We have had to learn fast, act appropriately and this is still a work in progress”.

“The actual process of operationalizing the embassy was a crash course in cultural and bureaucratic variance. Yet, today, our successes are marked by a number of tangibles and intangibles for which we must express gratitude”.

Ambassador Bowman said that over the year, “We sought to and we continue to seek to present our community with a home away from home. Vincentians and Taiwanese have felt our presence as we strengthen our friendship and secure our bilateral relations”.

“We understand our mission; we have faith in its value, its richness; we will continue to grow. Today my Minister Counsellor and I are grateful, as we pursue the responsibilities of our mandate.”

The embassy located in the Diplomatic Quarter in Shilin District of Taipei was opened by Prime Minister Dr Hon Ralph Gonsalves at a ceremony attended by Taiwan’s Vice President Chen Chien-Jen on August 8, 2019.
