It seems as though BRAGSA has found an endless stream of money recently. It also seems as though that institution has turned into a PR machine for the government. I don’t mind.
What I mind however is the state of the roads across the length and breadth of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. To be honest, I do not think that the Vincentian public is hard to please. In fact, throughout the Caribbean, Vincentians are probably the most passive citizens. We rarely agitate for anything except when it comes to Flow. Nuff Said!
The ULP government can boast of relative success regarding the big ticket items such as the Windward and Leeward highways but secondary and feeder roads have been mostly abandoned. In fact, the ULP has abandoned many of its ambitious road building program once promised when the Argyle Airport was being constructed. Some have started but never finished and remain as hazards for the travelling public.
As politicians come around ‘paranging’, I am really hoping that my road in Sharpes gets fix up too.
