Our 2020 team was rather small; it comprised of twelve (12) swimmers. The club has a track record of always being victorious in the ten (10) and under age category. This year was no different even though our team was small.
Three (3) of our swimmers emerged as overall champions in their age category:
Hazen Da Briel won the boys 9 – 10 age category. He won a total of sixteen (16) medals. Ten (10) of these were gold and six (6) were silvers. He also smashed three (3) national records: the 200 back, the 800 free and the 200 fly. Hazen was out of the pool and all competitive swimming for the past five (5) months due to the Novel Covid 19 pandemic. Coming back after that break, he really put on a stellar performance and the club is very proud of his achievement in this competition. The entire Blue Marlins family congratulates Hazen on his impressive performance!
Jadon Hamilton took the boys 8 and under champion. He received a total of ten (10) medals – four (4) golds and six (6) silvers.
Belle Adams emerged as the winner of the girls eight (8) and under category. She also won the trophy for the sprint challenge in her age group. She received a total of ten medals – nine (9) were golds and one (1) was silver.
The other medal winners were as follows:
Sylar Byron – 9 bronze, 1 gold
Rolene Sam – 11 silvers, 1 gold
