Several persons complained to Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Ralph Gonsalves that efforts to reach him have failed even after several months and calls to his personal secretary.

Prime Minister Gonsalves who was speaking during his weekly update to the country on NBC radio St. Vincent and the Grenadines said:

“Everybody in the country has my cell number it seems, everybody. And the point is this, and its not easy. Of course, I must be the only Prime Minister in the world that the whole country has his cell number and could get him”. He said he receives calls on a daily basis morning, noon and at nights.

One caller told Gonsalves: “I have been trying to get an appointment to see you for the longest while now and I haven’t got to see you. Its over three weeks now since I have put in calls to make the appointment.”

“I spoke to your Secretary and she say you didn’t give a response of when I can come and see you”.

In reply, the Prime Minister told the caller that his schedule does not often permit him to communicate as regularly or personally as he would like. He said:

“Over the last several weeks, I have been inundated with work. This week for instance, I could hardly catch my breath.”

Another caller expressing similar frustration with reaching the PM said:

“I also waited so long for an appointment to get to see you, since February”. She noted that she left her information with [Angie] PM Secretary but has not heard back since then.

In response, the Prime Minister who is leading his Unity Labour Party administration in the 2020 general elections boasted:

“I like to be accessible and I am the most accessible Prime Minister anywhere in the world but I have a lot of people who can do a lot of stuff to help me and they do help me”.
