No one doubts that the great orator Edwin Snagg is an asset to the Unity Labour Party (ULP) particularly at the party level and as a rock for the Southern Grenadines. However, it is time the party start looking to the future.
Are you telling me that there is no young and bright candidate the party can attract to start building a foundation for the party? Or is it that ‘Snaggy’ has title deed on candidacy. It is a foregone conclusion unless you are mentally deranged or politically jaundiced that the NDP will continue to win that constituency for the foreseeable future.
As such, it behoves the ULP to start building for future elections. Moreover, another youth face in the mix for both the Northern and Southern Grenadines will strengthen the ULP argument that it is pro-youth compared to the geriatric NDP. I have seen ‘VINCY POWA’ already lobbying for Emmanuel Quashie to replace Herman Belmar.
To me, it does not matter who, once the broomstick is new and young, it will still sweep.
Time for Snaggy to go!
