Large crowds of voters, paying little regard to social distancing and other COVID-19 protocols, have converged outside the gate of the Gregory Park Primary School in the battleground constituency of East Central St Catherine.
Apart from literally standing on top of each other, some supporters of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and the People’s National Party (PNP), who have converged on opposite side of the school gate, are wearing their face masks under their necks as they engage each other in conversation.
There was also a traffic jam outside the school gate.
Additionally the tents housing the outdoor agents of both the JLP and PNP were jam packed.
Loop News observed no efforts by the security forces or Electoral Office of Jamaica staff to get people to observe the health protocols that have been put in place to keep electors safe.
