Since the video went viral, Alex extended family has received pledges of support from concerned Vincentians both locally and abroad.
He is in dire need of textbooks and other school supplies, clothing, guidance and support.
At his current residence, Alex family still uses an outside latrine (toilet) and shower. He has little space but enjoys the time being around his cousins, being able to laugh and play with them.
Some persons have came forward and offered support to help with bathroom facilities, build an extension to the existing house to provide a bedroom for Alex and to help with a bed and mattress. He currently lives with his grandmother at Campden Park.
His relative Shari Parris who is leading the coordination of support can be contacted on WhatsApp or telephone: 1 784 527 1516.
She said, “I am so grateful for the help and all the support that we have been getting so far”.
We asked if the matter had been raised with either candidates of the two major political parties. She said “the area representative not in power so little he can do and we have not seen the ULP candidate pass this side yet”.
