The newest political party in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the United Progressive Party (UPP) will have an official launch and candidate showcase as it makes its case to the Vincentian electorate.
President Mark J. N Doyle in an Exclusive chat with BreadFruit News said that he is “inviting the public to attend our launch on September 19th and listen to what we have to offer to this beloved country of ours.
The event will take place at Ez Pickings Bar at Richland Park from 2:00PM and will be carried live on Facebook and YouTube. The public can tune in to the meeting on the party’s Facebook page and other social media accounts.
The party is challenging Vincentians noting that, “We can’t expect better if we are not willing to try something different”. That better is the join the political newcomers who are expecting a David versus Goliath fight against the two major political parties.
The political leader is expected to officially announce some of the candidates contesting the upcoming general elections. BreadFruit News understands that the party’s manifesto is ready for when the date of the general elections is announced.
While Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves has said he is yet to hear from the Lord for the date of the elections, the UPP is moving beyond the ‘get set’ stage and will be ready to go.
