A national of the United States of America is this country’s 65th positive Covid-19 case. In a release by NEMO this evening, the non-national arrived in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Wednesday 14th October from Florida with a negative PCR test but tested positive on entry screening here locally.

The US national went straight into isolation and is expected to stay there as per protocols until two successful negative tests for the virus.

According to the release, the new case from the USA, a country categorised as High Risk, emphasizes the great importance of strictly enforcing all of the protocols, including the requirement of arriving with a negative SARS-CoV-2 PCR test result, testing on arrival in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, mandatory quarantine/transition hotel and testing on day 4 or 5 of quarantine.”

“These protocols are designed to protect all Vincentians and to allow for relatively unrestrained daily activities.”

This means that St Vincent and the Grenadines now has one active Covid-19 case after 34 consecutive days of covid-19 free status.
