KINGSTOWN, SVG (BreadFruit News) – Work is progressing on the Black Sands Resorts at Peters Hope after a delay caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The resort which is a 200-room facility is being undertaken by Canadian company Pace Development. It is scheduled to be constructed over three phases with the first phase already advanced.
In the first phase, 10 villas each with five (5) rooms have been constructed with work now being completed on the inside.
Minister of Tourism Cecil ‘Ces’ McKie recently said:
“The exterior plastering has been completed and the workers are now on the inside of the villas completing the plastering on the inside, after which the windows will be put in place and the doors hung.”
45 contract workers, security guards and time keepers are currently employed at the project in the Central Leeward constituency.
Since his last statement to parliament on the matter, preparation is being done on the exterior of the villas which are being readied for painting.
