Camillo Gonsalves is the Member of Parliament for East Saint George. He is also the Minister of Finance, Economic Planning, Sustainable Development and Information Technology. Camillo also served as a Senator and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade for two years. Prior to becoming a Minister, Camillo was an ambassador, holding the post of Permanent Representative of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the United Nations for five years.
Before he entered public life, Camillo worked as an attorney in the United States and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Camillo has a BA in Journalism from Temple University, a JD from the George Washington University Law School, and an MSc in Global Affairs from New York University. He is the author of Globalised. Climatised. Stigmatised., a book about the challenges and opportunities inherent in the development of small island states.
Camillo is an avid amateur cricketer and fan, playing regularly across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. He is also a music lover, who still occasionally fills-in as a guest DJ on WEFM’s Reggae Blast program. Camillo is married with two children.
