A vote for the NDP is absolutely and utterly wasted. Their plans are unrealistic; “the hospital in a new site”, or they are already being done; “payment of fee for external exams for students” (govt already pays for disadvantaged students), “possession of 56 grammes of cannabis and expunging of records” (already possible since 2018 through the Drugs Prevention of Misuse Amendment Act), and then for everything else there’s CBI. There’s no specificity about how jobs will be created.
The last time the NDP touched Ottley Hall they corruptly squandered 200 million dollars (this made my heart skip two beats). Don’t believe me? Google Mitchell v. Georges. This is the feather in the cap of the dismal record of the NDP; the epitome of ineptitude.
The ULP on the other hand has a great record in low and no income housing, education (13 learning resource centers, library, expansion of the community college, 14 schools, universal access to secondary education, lots of scholarships), built 3 polyclinics, hospital in Georgetown, smart hospital in Chateau, Sport ( refurbished Arnos Vale Playing Field, built multi-purpose centers in Rose Hall, Sans Souci, Choppins, Cumberland playing field, lit Calliaqua, South Rivers, Park Hill and completed phase 1 of national stadium), infrastructure development (more roads than any other government, bridges, International Airport among others).
You then look at programs like the lives to live, roving caregivers, YES and SET programs which have benefitted the young and the old. The minimum wage has been increased thrice (unlike the NDP once). Pregnant and nursing women in the workplace and young persons are protected by the new Occupational Safety and Health Act. Its simply incredible.
Then you look at the plans for the modern port, hotel and resort developments, parliament and hall of justice, continued sporting facility improvements, modern referral hospital at Arnos Vale, and you know this party has a VISION!
Its not rocket science. The smartest thing to do is to vote labour! Put your X next to the ⭐.
