I can understand your disappointment, but I want to say to you, do not give up hope. Don’t lose hope.”

“I want to say to you that although we did not make it into the government, that defeat is not failure, it is delayed success and I believe that not too long from now, we will be going back to the polls and the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines will get the opportunity, you will get the opportunity to install the government that you desire and that government comprise Dr. Friday and the rest of us on the platform tonight.”

Stephenson with the defeat of Roland Patel Matthews will now be considered a senior member of the party on the opposition benches in parliament went on to add:

“We are the team that will work relentlessly to ensure that there is a better quality of life for all of you. Again, I want to thank you, but before I leave, I want to say to you that the job is not done and we are going to continue, the mission is not complete until we get into government so we can make a better way of life for every single Vincentian, not just in South Leeward but throughout the length and breadth of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.”

“So I thank you very much and I talk you South Leeward because no amount of bribery could not stop the forces of nature, no amount of bribery.”

“Thank you very much, God bless you, the war continues.”
