OPINION | LIGHT THE WORLD ONE BY ONE

What is light the world? “It is a worldwide movement that encourages us to do things like Jesus Christ did to touch and change lives.” This year has been difficult for many of us; so the Christmas season should be celebrated in a cheerful manner; despite the challenges. We can choose to end the year with the spirit of kindness.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints invites everyone to participate in this event. There is a published calendar with daily acts and ideas of what can be done.

For example; Tuesday, 1st December; is giving Tuesday. You can choose to donate to a charity; or volunteer your time; then post the link, so that other may participate. The activity calendar runs throughout the month of December. We invite all to join us, and share your experiences on social media using the hash-tag; #lighttheworld

You can sign up with your email address for daily remainders on the websites: comeuntochrist.org or lighttheworld.org.

Let us all share the love and kindness that Jesus Christ has shown. Let us lift and encourage others. Let us share the wonderful message of Jesus Christ’s birth. Let us teach our children and others about the Savior.

This Christmas let us spend time with our families and friends. In Mathew 5:16, It says; “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

We can choose to shine our light, and inspire others to do the same. This is a perfect opportunity to do so!
