Further to the latest correspondence from the Ministry of Health Wellness and the Environment, the Security Director issues this communication for immediate distribution and voluntary cooperation from the inhabitants, employees and associates of Mustique.

In line with revisions to the ministry’s protocols and increased advisories for strict adherence to covid-19 government guidelines, The Mustique Company Limited will initiate the following conditions effective 5th January, 2021:

All commuter flights will be suspended until further notice. A reinstatement to stated flights will be reviewed on a daily basis

The M/V Endeavour will remain in operation as per regular schedule for essential travel and cargo transfer services to the mainland but will not accommodate returning passengers effective Wednesday 6th January, 2021. A review of this policy will be done on Monday 18th January, 2021

Special exemptions can be granted for returning passengers if deemed necessary by the Security Department

All overnight guests currently on island are kindly asked to act in accordance with agreement of entry and take leave of present MCL/Villa units on or before the expiry of their authorised period of stay, granted upon admission to the island

Any overnight guest who has stayed beyond his/her period of authorised stay must departure on next sailing of the M/V Endeavour or next available flight

Regarding any subsequent Extensions of Stay, you may no longer apply to the Security Department for a ‘more convenient’ departure or date closer to the reopening of School

There is a narrow exception to this rule. If the staff can show that ‘extraordinary circumstances’ exist, they may be allowed to apply for an extension of stay. Any person wanting to take advantage of the ‘extraordinary circumstances’ exception, must receive the consent from the appropriate Property/Estate Manager or Department Manager, before making an appointment and submitting an application for an Extension of Stay

Upon the recommendation of the Chief Medical Officer, you are also urged to play your part to reduce the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) on and off Mustique:

Wear appropriate facial coverings and masks while in public, including on public transportation and in situations where social/safe distancing is not possible

Strict adherence to proper handwashing/sanitising of hands; physical/safe distancing of three to six feet where possible and, among others, avoiding unnecessary physical contact

Persons who are experiencing flu-like symptoms are strongly advised to remain at home and contact the Mustique Clinic for appropriate instruction

As always, your cooperation and assistance in this effort is anticipated.
