The Ministry of the Public Service, Consumer Affairs, and Sports, has embarked on a project for the establishment of an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) within the Public Service of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
An Employee Assistance Programme is a work-based intervention programme designed to assist employees in resolving personal problems that may be adversely affecting the employee’s performance. The programme would be delivered at no cost to employees. The EAP is intended to address the following:
- Reduce the occurrence of low productivity and absenteeism;
- Improve employees’ work-life balance;
- Create an avenue for employees to maintain their mental health and well-being;
- Strengthen institutional arrangements;
The consultancy services for the EAP Project have commenced, and include the development of appropriate policy documents for the effective implementation of the programme.
To this end, the Ministry is conducting an on-line survey to gather information to aid in the project development. The survey will run for three (3) weeks effective 11 – 29 January, 2021.
