VAN DRIVERS URGED TO SANITIZE

The Police Force Traffic Department is appealing to those mini-bus operators who are not sanitizing their buses, to do so.

Officer Jones issued the call while speaking to THE VINCENTIAN on Wednesday. He reminded operators that there are sanitizing stations at the Windward and Leeward Bus Terminals, and warned that it is an offence to keep their buses in an unsanitary condition.

The Officer noted that under section 41, Chapter 483 of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Regulations, a person who is guilty of this offence is liable to a fine of not less than $100, and not exceeding $1,500, and could also be imprisoned for 21 days.

The Senior Traffic Officer said that though the Police Force has also been affected by the coronavirus pandemic, officers are continuing to work tirelessly to ensure that citizens comply with the health protocols put in place by the authorities.
