The Ministry of Health says SVG reported 49 new COVID-19 cases from tests conducted on Saturday. All of the new positives are RT-PCR results for tests conducted on patients and staff at the Mental Health Rehabilitation Centre located in Glen.

Forty-seven are patients and two are staff members. This figure now adds to the 18 patients and two staff members who tested positive for COVID-19 at the Mental Health Rehabilitation Centre on Friday.

The Ministry says isolation and quarantine measures continue to be implemented along with additional testing to ensure containment of any further spread in the facility.

Screening of admissions will continue as a measure to reduce the risk of the introduction of new infections. Meanwhile, two persons were cleared bringing the number of total recoveries to 938. Six hundred and eighty-two cases remain active and eight persons with COVID-19 have died.

Since March last year, 1628 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
