SVG RECEIVES 40K COVID-19 VACCINE FROM INDIA

Forty-thousand (40,000) doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine were dropped off here at the Argyle International Airport, SVG on Monday 1st March, 2021.

The vaccines were donated to the Government and People of St Vincent and the Grenadines by the Government and People of India.

The vaccines where part of a total 175,000 doses that were dropped off in Antigua via a charter flight from Bombay, Mumbai (India) and is to be distributed to St Kitts and Nevis, Suriname, St Vincent and the Grenadines and St Lucia.

The Vaccines were received by Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Ralph E. Gonsalves, Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment Hon. St. Clair Prince, the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Simone Keizer-Beache, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Mr. Cuthbert Knights and representatives from the Indian High Commission and the Indian Heritage Foundation along with staff from the Argyle International Airport.

St Vincent and the Grenadines say a heartfelt thank you to the Government and people of India.
