Many people want his reaction to the explosive interview which Oprah Winfrey conducted with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, but Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines Dr Ralph Gonsalves says people will be disappointed to learn he did not watch it.
Speaking during his live programme on NBC radio St Vincent and the Grenadines this morning, Gonsalves said a number of people have been asking him since Sunday night about the famous Oprah Winfrey interview.
“I regret to tell everybody who think I should be interested is that I did not watch it.
At that particular period, I decided to watch a classic movie a 1959 Western appropriately titled, ‘Large train from Gun Hill’ starring Kurt Douglas and Anthony Quinn,” said the prime minister.
He noted that everywhere one turns in the western world, in the media as well in the non-western world, ‘you see a lot of pre-occupation in the to and fro of this thing.’
Gonsalves said: “All the persons involved clearly have wanton merit, but I have COVID to deal with, I have jabs to deal with and I have jobs to deal with.”
He also noted: “Everyone knows in 2009 I campaigned with all respect for her Majesty. I campaigned in the referendum for a homegrown non-executive president as there is in Dominica and T&T but the people did not accept that so I take the democratic verdict and I just move on.
Sometime in the future, the people of St Vincent and the Grenadines may revisit it, and that’s it.”
