MIKEISHA WELCOME BREAKS HER TRIPLE JUMP RECORD

Mikeisha Welcome established a new St Vincent and the Grenadines Women’s Outdoor Triple Jump record, when she leapt to 13.57 metres, and a second place, at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, USA, last Saturday.

In the process, Welcome, who attends the University of Oklahoma, broke her own record, a 13.15 metres jump that earned her a bronze medal in her debut outing for St Vincent and the Grenadines, at the Pan Am Under-20 Championships in Costa Rica, in 2019.

Meanwhile, another Vincentian, Kemroy Cupid, who is enrolled at the Bethel College in Kansas, USA, broke his school records in the Men’s 100m and 200m while participating in last weekend’s Jinks Invite Track Meet.

Cupid ran 10.61 seconds in the 100 metres and 21.47 seconds in the 200 metres.

Cupid holds the St Vincent and the Grenadines Indoor 60m record, 6.73 seconds, recorded in February of this year.
