MAJOR JUMP IN COVID-19 CASES RECORDED IN SVG

Just one day after recording several COVID-19 recoveries the number of new cases has increased again in St Vincent and the Grenadines which is also facing threats from the La Soufriere volcano.  

St Vincent and the Grenadines recorded 14 new positive cases from 34 samples received and tested on April 11, resulting in a positivity rate of 41.2 per cent.

All of these cases are contacts of known COVID-19 positive cases.  

No new recoveries were recorded over the reporting period. The number of total recoveries remains at 1,665. The Ministry of Health says 131 cases are active and 10 persons with COVID-19 have died.  

Since March last year, 1,806 confirmed cases have been reported.  

The COVID-19 report says 12,349 vaccines have been administered.
