On April 9, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’s La Soufrière volcano began a series of explosive eruptions.
Since then, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has been covered in thick layers of dangerous volcanic ash and over 20,000 people have been evacuated. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has a population of around 110 thousand.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs estimated in mid-April that the financial impact of the crisis would be approximately US$554 million and warned of a humanitarian crisis.
H.E. Ambassador Andrea Bowman, the Ambassador of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in ROC, Taiwan launches a volcano relief drive in Taiwan calling for the public in Taiwan to help.
