On June 10th, 2021 the Medicinal Cannabis Authority (MCA) conducted another training at the Fisheries Division Conference Room, Kingstown, for Medical Professionals on the use of Medicinal Cannabis in SVG.
The course was geared toward preparing these professionals to prescribe and dispense Medicinal Cannabis (MC) for a number of diseases and ailments.
The session included a general overview of the cannabis industry, as well as the Physiology of the EndoCannabinoid System (ECS), dosing, prescribing and dispensing of MC. There was also an introduction to the software for patient registration and tracking system.
A certificate of completion will be awarded to the participants who completed the training. This document will form part of the requirements needed to apply for authorisation both to prescribe, and dispense MC.
The session was attended by medical doctors, pharmacists and dentists. The attendees left the session with great enthusiasm about the benefits of Medicinal Cannabis for twenty (20) illnesses and increased their knowledge on a wide variety of topics related to Medicinal Cannabis so they could treat patients.
Another training session is scheduled for Sunday 20th of June 2021.
