GEORGETOWN WOMAN CHARGED WITH OBSTRUCTING POLICE

Thirty-five-year-old Sherry Ann Caine of Georgetown will return to the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on January 24, 2022 for trial on a charge of obstructing a police officer while executing his duties.

The matter stems from a protest action in front of the Kingstown Vegetable Market on Thursday, September 9.

Caine is charged, with, that on September 9, 2021 she obstructed Police Constable 700 Verrol Sam, he being a police officer acting in due execution of his duties.

Caine pleaded not guilty during a brief appearance before Senior Magistrate Rickie Burnett at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

The Magistrate ordered disclosure of all relevant material to the case by October 14, 2021, and the matter was adjourned to January 24, 2022.

Attorneys Kay Bacchus-Baptiste and Israel Bruce are representing Caine.
