Vincentian-born Jevon Cottoy is heavily tipped to land a National Football League (NFL) contract soon.

Cottoy, 25, from Prospect here in St Vincent and the Grenadines, is currently playing as a Wide Receiver with the British Columbia Lions, in the Canadian Football League (CFL).

However, the 6 foot 5 inches Cottoy is being chased by several units in the NFL.

To date, he has had training experience with the Pittsburg Steelers, New York Jets, Houston Texans, Las Vegas Raiders, New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers among others.

Last year, Cottoy played 14 matches for the Lions, catching 39 passes for 519 yards. He also registered three touchdowns.  His achievements in 2021 saw him ranked seventh in the CFL, after accumulating 255 yards.

Cottoy began to show his prowess nationally when in 2019, he was nominated for his team’s ‘Most Outstanding Rookie’.  That season he had 38 catches and covered 386 yards in 16 matches.

Before entering the senior league, Cottoy played for the Langley Rams in the Canadian Junior Football League.
