Vincentian sprinter Shantel Williams, representing St. Benedict College, South Carolina, USA, at the March 5 Savannah State Relay Meet, Georgia, turned in one of her better Meet performances for the year.

First, she teamed up with her colleagues – CeCe Williams, Angel Johnson and Kassie Jordan –  to win and break her school’s record in the 4x200m relay.  The quartet clocked 1:42.06 in which Williams ran the opening leg.

Williams was not done.  She joined with her school mates – Savionna Glover, Eilika Layne and Kassie Jordan –  to win the 4x100m relay in 47.89,  in which Williams ran the third leg.

And competing in the Meet’s 100m, the Vincentian clocked 12.40 to finish second.

Williams’ next outing will be on 25th and 26th March, in the USC Weems Baskin in Columbia, where she will compete in the 100m, 200m and 4×100 meters.

An alumna of the Girls’ High School and the SVG Community College, Williams left SVG in 2019 to commence a four-year scholarship at St. Benedict College.

In addition to refining and improving her track and field shills, she is pursuing a major in Business Management.
