VINCENTIAN ON DRUG TRAFFICKING CHARGE IN GRENADA

Two men, a Vincentian national and a Grenadian national were granted bail in the sum of EC $20,000 each after they appeared in a Grenada court charged for Trafficking in a Controlled Drug.

According to reports, officers attached at Drug Squad Unit executed a search warrant at Ron Richardson’s home during an operation on March 19. Ron Richardson, 30, is a vendor of Grenville, St Andrew.

Three 16-pound packages of cannabis were seized during the search. The street value of the drug is estimated at EC $36,288.  

Ron Richardson and Vincentian national Roland Hooper, 35, a contrsuction worker of Petit Bordel, St Vincent and the Grenadines were both arrested and charged with Trafficking in Controlled Drug.  

Both men appeared at the Grenville Magistrate’s Court on March 21 and were granted bail with two sureties each. 

Richardson was released on bail in the amount of $20,000, while Hooper was released on bail in the amount of $20,000 with $10,000 to be posted in cash and $10,000 in assets. 

Both men must surrender all travel documents and report to Grenville Police Station on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday between 6am and 6pm as part of their bail conditions. 

The matter was adjourned to 31st March 2022.
