Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), H.E. Peter Sha-Li Lan was pleased to attend the press conference, launching “Public Health Emergency Response System Enhancement Project” of the Taiwan Technical Mission with Hon. St. Clair Prince, Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on 5th April 2022.
Amb. Lan introduced the training equipment at site which will be utilized for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training under the project. He also congratulated nine (9) seeds instructors who will go to Taiwan for a 3-month training later this month.
Nine (9) Seed Instructors including doctors, nurses, and firefighters will travel to Taiwan this month (April 2022), to participate in a three (3) months training as part of the Taiwan-funded “Public Health Emergency Response System Enhancement Project”.
Upon returning to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the Seed Instructors are expected to assist the project by conducting local training in emergency response to more health and other related personnel.

- Administrative Officer – Health Security Unit MOHWE, Ms. Whilma Ryan
- Staff Nurse MCMH Hospital Services, Ms. Euphemia Douglas
- Staff Nurse MCMH Hospital Services, Ms. Marrita Davis
- Corporal of Police RSVPF – AIA Fire Department, Mr. Kerwin Ince
- Police Constable RSVPF – AIA Fire Department, Ms. Yolanda Samuel

Upon the invitation of the host, Amb. Lan and Hon. Prince performed the right way of Quality Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (QCPR) and got a big round of applause.
Taiwan and SVG share common values and enjoy the fruitful outcome of their 40+ years of diplomatic relations. We look forward to a closer partnership and wish the two countries an everlasting friendship.
