Vincentian – Keiffer Bailey took the Female Individual title at the Jamaica’s Inter- Collegiate Track and Field Championships, Saturday, March 26, at the GC Foster Facility.

Competing for the GC Foster College, Bailey won the 800m in 2:45 and was third in the 1500m and 3000m, as she tallied 21 individual points.

Her clocking in the 1500m was 6:07.58 and she posted a time of 15:10.42 for the 3000m.

Bailey, though, was among a contingent of Vincentian athletes who also put in creditable performances at the event.

Javon Rawlins, also of GC Foster College, ran a personal best of 10.46 seconds in the 100m.

OJ Jackson won the 400m in a time of 48.33 seconds and Odeisha Nanton won the Women’s 400m Hurdles in 1:04.43. 

Sage Primus timed 21.49 seconds in the Men’s 200m to earn second place and was followed in third by Earl Simmons with a clocking of 21.79 seconds.

In the women’s 400m where there was also Vincentian representation, Annecia Richards timed 54.82 seconds to win the event and Nanton did 55.20, to trail Richards in second place.  

Jackson, Nanton, Primus, Simmons and Richards, are all students of the GC Foster College.

The Vincentians played their part in the relays, as GC Foster College won the Women’s 4 x 100m and 4 x400m, along with the Men’s Sprint Relay.

The overall scores showed GC Foster College wining the Female segment with 198 points and the Male category with 205 points.

University of the West Indies (Mona), Mico University College, Excelsior Community and Mongeague College were the other competing tertiary institutions.
