On Saturday 7th May 2022, officers attached to the Drug Squad Unit of the Royal Grenada Police Force seized two hundred and sixty-two (262) pounds of Cannabis that carries an estimated street value of (EC $594,216.00) at Soubise, St. Andrew, Grenada.

Consequently, Jeffery Stapleton, 37, a labourer from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, was arrested and charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Drug.

In addition, Stapleton was charged with entering the country without the permission of an immigration officer.

He was found hiding in the area where the drugs were seized.

Stapleton appeared at the Grenville Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 10th May 2022 and was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison pending a reappearance on Friday 20th May 2022.
