HEALTH CARE WORKERS IN SVG NOW NEED TO TAKE C-19 BOOSTER SHOT EVERY 5 MONTHS

The Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is now mandating that healthcare workers in SVG take COVID-19 Booster shots every five-months interval to remain eligible for employment in the Government Health Sector.

This was announced in a memorandum from the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment to the Staff of the said ministry on 5th August 2022.

Permanent Secretary Mr Knights noted that the decision was made by the Cabinet on Wednesday 27th July 2022.

The memorandum read: “Kindly be advised that Cabinet on Wednesday 27th July 2022 directed that all health care workers, as defined in Statutory Rules and Orders Number 28 of 2021, must be vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and must receive booster at five (5) months intervals after an initial two (2) doses series of an approved vaccine, in order to be eligible for employment in the health sector.”
