A total of fifteen records were reestablished when the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Swimming Federation hosted the 2022 SVG Gallagher National Swim Championships, 18th to 21st August.

From that total, Kennice Greene was responsible for resetting three of the records. She rewrote the 13-14 Girls 100m Butterfly to 1:06.68, the 50m Freestyle to 27.12s, and the 100m Individual Medley’s to 1:11.04.

In so doing, Greene held on to the 100m Butterfly and the 50m Freestyle, but broke Mya De Freitas’ Individual Medley record.

Two other records were reordered in the Girls 13-14, with Kevern Da Silva responsible for the new marks.  She now holds that age category’s 50m Backstroke that stands at 31.46s, taking it away from Abigail De Shong; and the 200m Backstroke, at 2:33.70, maintaining her rein on the 200m event.

Meanwhile, Brandon George in the Boys 13-to-14, bettered his records in the 100m Backstroke and 200m Backstroke, lowering them to 1.00.89 and 2:16.25, respectively.

In the Boys 9-10, Jadon Hamilton has taken charge of the 100m and the 200m Backstroke events. The new mark in the 100m is 1:21.34 and in the 200m event- 2:55.54. Hazen Dabriel was the previous record holder.

Kenale Alleyne and Shane Cadogan each set two new records in the Men’s 15-and-over.

Alleyne bettered his own record in the 100m Freestyle to 52.46s and that of Cruz Halbich in the 200m Freestyle to 2:00.0.

In the case of Cadogan, he erased Nikolas Sylvester’s mark in the 50m Backstroke, making it 27.44s, and his own 50m Butterfly to 25.69s.

And, Mya De Freitas and Abigail De Shong, claimed one record each.

De Freitas retained her Girls 15-16 record in the 200m Freestyle, lowering it to 2:13.31; while De Shong erased Shne Joachim’s record in the Girls 15-16, setting a new time of 1:07.26.

The list of record holders shows that except for Hamilton, all are members of the Black Sands Swim Squad. Hamilton is a member of the Blue Marlins Swim Club.
